Day 20 - A complete waste of time in Cottonwood and Jerome

Glad these folks are at the no problem state. We were too until we tried to get brunch in Cottonwood.

This beautiful little Porsche was the most interesting thing in Cottonwood. Last year, we had brunch many times at Crema in the historic old town, but the old town has become distinctly dog-unfriendly, and Crema has closed their formerly dog-friendly patio. Their staff have become singularly uninformed, and are not the fun, helpful staff of last year. We walked away.

Jerome's public art installations are still interesting, but not worth the traffic jam to see. The food in Jerome was never a high point, but installing a new dominant life-form of bad wine bars really doesn't help. The rest of Jerome is largely trinket shops aimed at unsuspecting tourists.

Apparently it's art if I say it is. Come to think of it - I think this lovely piece was on display last year. Staying power.

Jerome was so busy today it was barely worth the effort. We actually got lucky and found a parking spot. Beyond that - there wasn't much redeeming. The restaurants are all serving the same dull menu and wine tasting rooms featuring local desert wines are overtaking pretty much every space.

Back in Sedona where even the parking lots have views.

Our little family of Javelinas came by for a visit this evening. I was too slow with getting a camera to get pictures of the babies - they are tiny! These two adults are the size of large dogs.

Javelinas are big enough to trigger the security lights outside. These two are discussing their plans for a heist on the BBQ deck tonight.
